Over the summer of 2015, the College welcomed groups of visitors and pilgrims from schools and parishes around Scotland.
St Ninian’s High School in East Renfrewshire kicked off the summer programme with visits to Ávila, Alba de Tormes, the Peña de Francia and La Alberca. Then, at the end of June (just as Spain entered a heatwave!), a group of 23 pilgrims from parishes in Dundee arrived (see picture). Their main visits were to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the birth of St Teresa (1515-2015), to Ávila and Alba, but included also a beautiful (and very hot!) day in Segovia to honour St John of the Cross. The third group hails from Glasgow (St Gregory’s, Wyndford) enjoying more of the Spanish summer, the Salamanca sights and, of course, taking a day to visit St Teresa in this special anniversary year.
